Sealskin Hair Barrette

This sealskin hair barrette is handmade by me using genuine sealskin, with beading around the edge to give it a little extra detail. I finish each one with a smooth wooden hair pin that slides through the barrette to hold your hair securely in place.

One of my favourite things about working with sealskin is that no two pieces are ever the same. The colours, markings, shading, and texture of the fur naturally vary, so every barrette I make ends up being completely unique.

Each barrette is handmade in Calgary by me, an Inuk artisan, and is another way I can incorporate sealskin into something beautiful that can be worn and enjoyed every day.
